[The recent post made by WTF (or WoTF) has finally prompted Kushina to make an entry again, addressing this world at large and the people in it. Or at least those that can see this.

First, a deep breath.]

I don't know if anybody has been thanked for all the effort, for putting their lives on the line to save this world by those of us who don't remember how bad it was. There were people who made this place better for everyone and went back in time. It still sounds ridiculous to me and kind of impossible but this world is good at making impossible things possible, isn't it? [Like bringing people back to life.

Minato was good at it too. Space-time and doing impossible things.]

So... thank you. [At the end, her voice nearly cracks and she bows her head before lifting it again.

Now. Her smile is sad.]

It seems like we can go home soon, huh? That's good. We should go home because that's where we belong. Even if we have a choice to stay, we should go home in the end. So many people have fought for us to do just that. They're still fighting. If we don't go home, isn't it just like scorning those people and all their efforts? Isn't it forgetting who we are?

Don't be so selfish about wanting to stay here. There's a million other people in different timelines and worlds that don't. You should all work hard too to overcome your weaknesses so you're not stuck here anyway. There's people who do want to go home but they're going back to a place worse than this. Because it's home! Even if it's going back to their own death or being alone!

Even if it means losing everything here that is precious...

[A long, pregnant pause and Kushina finishes with a question after shaking her head a little.]

How many of you were given a second chance by being here?

[She closes the journal immediately after.]

Still, she's gotten a bit cagey since she's gotten into some heated discussions (read: fights) so whereas she might have been more friendly, cheerful even, she's muted.]

If you're going to talk about space-time, I've heard it all. I don't get that stuff. It's way too smart for me.

Oh geez, no. I can't get that stuff either, it just flies right over my head. I just thought it was interesting.

Legends exist outside of time, too. Fairy tales. I wonder, if there is something left behind when we go, we'll be fairy tales to somebody's great great grandkids.

Stories about people coming from other worlds and getting a second chance at life sounds like a fairy tale to me.

Doesn't sound like it's a story you'd like, though. Could I ask why?

Because there isn't really a happy ending, is there?

Does seem like a scenario too good to be true. I don't know if I'd say it's impossible, though.

[Argh. That's what Vegeta said.]

It's not really good, either. I mean, it's pretty good since it was a lot worse before. That's what everyone says.

You mean the situation here? I don't know. People are still separated from their homes. You could make the argument about how without the forced battles or experimentation that yeah, it's better, but really-

Well, it's kind of what people decide to make of it, right? Same with any country in wartime. People get displaced, lose their homes and families. Some people can live through that and keep going, and some people- they just can't let things go. It's all subjective, isn't it?

[A nod before Kushina remembers he can't see her.]

Yeah. That's why this is better than the way it was before. But there's still people who remember it. I don't remember it, the war in this place but I remember what it's like to lose my home and family. I know what war is like.

I don't have to know details to know a lot of people are probably different because of it. War changes people and not for the better. Even if you can keep going, experiencing loss like that stays with you. It might be subjective, but I think everyone can agree this place is better without forced battles at least and that makes it better from how it was.

It's peaceful so how can that be bad?

I don't think it's a matter of this place being a bad place to stay for the rest of your life. [A pause.]

What about what you said earlier? That we should all go back to where we belong, even if it means some of us die? Why do you feel that way if Luceti isn't so bad?

[Certainly not. And not now. For her, it was the only place she had a life now.]

Just that. It's where we belong.

Can I ask you something? Do you believe in predestination? Prophecies and the like.

[There's a minute or so while she thinks of that.]

I believe more in making your own dreams come true and having the courage to do something on your own without thinking of things like what's that's meant to be will be.

[Then she adds on, in a much more shy tone:]

But I believe in soul mates and... the red thread of fate. If that counts.

Mmm, I think soulmates are a little different. But would I be out of line if I guessed that's why you believe people need to be where they belong?

What does believing in soul mates have to do with believing people should go back home where they belong?

[Unless they're going home to soul mates.]

I'm just trying to nail down why you think people belong in their home worlds. I mean, if you think people need to be brave enough to make their own decisions without thinking about how things should be, then why can't people stay here?
