[Like everyone else, Kushina is confused by the crap ton of new arrivals and their lack of wings. Only she's going to question the whole network about it instead of keeping it to herself. Maybe someone will know the answer.

She's hanging out by the bakery when she makes her post, so maybe you'll overhear her if you're around.]

I have a question. Why don't any of the new arrivals in Luceti have wings this month? I thought you needed them to be here.

[Silence... for a while, until there's a plucking/ripping sound and immediately afterward a loud;]

['Ttebane. She drops the journal, turning it off.]

Well, she didn't see that coming. She doesn't know WHAT to say to that.]

Then why do you act so foul?

Because I have no time to waste for nonsense. I'm here to do a job and I will see it through to the end. Unless you're more referring to my disregard of plant life and wildlife.

I'm talking about everything before now.

[And probably after.]

It's as I said. I come from a world where the very fate of the universe hangs in the balance. We Saiyans were born to fight. My life was spent on the battlefield, the thirst for battle coursing though my veins. Mercy was not shown to us. And I, their Prince, is one of two that still remain of a proud race of warriors.

Perhaps that will tell you why I've no time for games, woman.

[Now Kushina can join the very small club of people who know the Saiyans were exterminated. Spoilers: this club kinda sucks.]

[How could two people, who went through the same thing, be so different? Kushina lost her entire clan in the viciousness of war. She had been one of the few remaining of her own powerful clan.

Ninja were born to fight and she spent the larger part of her childhood wrapped up in another war. Where Kushina did not thirst for battle, she wanted peace and understanding. Even if mercy was not shown to her, she couldn't take life as easily as the other shinobi. In fact, she downright refused. When everything you know -- your home, your people, your life is destroyed you tend to cherish life that much more because you lost so much.

Maybe because he's a prince. It was his entire people that was brought to ruin. It wasn't just family, it was a lifestyle. It was everything.]

Tell me more about the Saiyans, about your people. What happened?

[Kushina never wanted her village or people to disappear, their legacy. All she can do is try to understand and not let their existence die too.]

[He's a little taken aback. The fact that she's even bothering to ask. She owed him nothing- why would she even want to bother to listen?]

Why are you so interested all of a sudden? Here I thought you weren't very fond of me.

I'm not. I still think you're awful.

[She doesn't mince words. And it takes her a moment to get this out, and it's a little rushed.]

But I know what it's like to lose everything, lose yourself. My home and family was destroyed because everyone was afraid of us and our power. I moved to a different village, but it wasn't like the place I was born. I won't forget it.

I wish people knew how great it was when it still existed, not when it was in ruin.

[He considers for a moment, in silence, looking back at his red-haired adversary, before he finally decides to put up an unhackable filter. It's easy enough, inclined with technology as he is.]

Well, if you want to know, then I'll tell you. But let me get one thing straight, I'm not looking for your pity or anyone else's for that matter. [Because really, this has become just a fact of life for him now. He's really 95% over it at this point in his life.]

The Saiyans were also feared throughout the galaxy, and feared by the man who enslaved my race. That's why he destroyed us. Afraid a Super Saiyan would rise and destroy him one day. So without warning, when all but a few of us were on the planet, he blew it up, wiping us from existence. An entire world gone within seconds. There wasn't even a fragment of the planet left to be seen. It would be as if your homeworld and every shinobi alive were destroyed, lost to the river of time.

And in order to survive, I had to rely on my own strength, and no one else's, living under his rule, still in servitude to him. A ruthless killer who would have ruled the galaxy had it not been for the efforts of a small group of fighters.

So there you have it.

[She listens, getting a little angry. What she has to say to it is;]

What a-- [She can't even come up with a bad enough word for a person like that.]

Asshole. If he ever shows up here, point him out to me. I'd like to punch him in the face a few times.

[Okay, he's got to smile genuinely at that. She's certainly got some spunk.]

I don't think you'll want to be doing that. Punch him in the face and he'll certainly turn you into dust. I'm not sure how your body would handle taking a blast of that magnitude, and he does not care if anyone in this enclosure lives or dies. But, I think that was made obvious. I'll take care of him if he happens to ever show up here.

But perhaps, for good measure, after I've beaten him senseless, I'll let you have a few shots in on him to add insult to injury. Or anyone else who wants to have a little fun, for that matter. Just as long as I get to do him in.

How does that sound?

Kushina pauses. She wasn't one to let senseless killing go without saying something about it (VEGETA KNEW THAT) but for a person like that, she's not sure. No, she definitely wants to punch him in a the face a lot though for the horrible things he had done.]

There's no point to kicking or punching someone when he's down, no matter how much he deserves it.

Besides, I'm a lot tougher than you think. I want to protect everyone here if a person like that winds up here.

[Now that he's put two and two together to figure out she was a shinobi, and from her demonstration before, he figures she really is a lot tougher than he originally thought. But that doesn't mean he'd let her fight Frieza on her own.]

A battle is a battle, and there are no rules when it comes to that. [He points a finger just for emphasis.] If you decide to face him alone, if it even comes to that, don't expect him to show you the same mercy. I know your type, you shinobi, but I'm talking about a power that could wipe you and your entire shinobi existence off the map. Sometimes it's best left for those who can rival that power than throwing your own life away just because you can't stand to sit on the sidelines. You're not going to be doing anyone any good dead.

[She knows the rules of war. Or rather, that there are none. She's seen her share of incredibly powerful enemies and allies alike as well. That's never stopped her before.

So neither will Vegeta. Or Frieza.]

I'm not throwing my life away. Not if it means I'm protecting someone.

[Naruto... Minato... the people she's met here.

Even Vegeta.]

[He internally sighs at her remark. Yeah, he knows what she means. Before he arrived in Luceti he came off of doing just that himself. He knew he was going to die and he went anyway. He stares back for a long moment, shoulders finally relaxing as he answers her.]

Fine. You win. But don't say I didn't warn you. And don't expect me to save your sorry hide when you're on the verge of losing your life.

[Hi Kushina, welcome to Getting to Know Vegeta: A Hypocritical Documentary. He wouldn't let Kushina die and he knows it, but it's not stopping him from being a huge jerk.]

[Kushina always wins. SHE'S THAT STUBBORN. There's a bit of a grin from her though, not from winning.

He may be saying that but everything he's said is the opposite. He wants to protect the innocent. She knows it too and maybe she's understanding him a bit more.]

Don't worry. I'll be saving yours instead.

Ah-! What? No way, you're out of your mind if you think I'm going to need any help from you. I've got everything under control for your information!

[Look, he's all flustered now.]

Ugh. [There is one thing he's learned by his age. He'll never win with women.]
