[Like everyone else, Kushina is confused by the crap ton of new arrivals and their lack of wings. Only she's going to question the whole network about it instead of keeping it to herself. Maybe someone will know the answer.

She's hanging out by the bakery when she makes her post, so maybe you'll overhear her if you're around.]

I have a question. Why don't any of the new arrivals in Luceti have wings this month? I thought you needed them to be here.

[Silence... for a while, until there's a plucking/ripping sound and immediately afterward a loud;]

['Ttebane. She drops the journal, turning it off.]

[Haruka is totally completely trustworthy, yes.

Haruka takes the feathers, pulling one from the pile and holding one end with each hand. He doesn't really answer Kushina's question, casually bending the feather so it's almost folded in half.]

Feel anything?

[At first she gasps as its bent. Then she watches closely, narrowing her eyes and waiting for something when he bends it further.

Nothing.

She shakes her head.]

I still don't want the Malnosso to get a hold of them. It's like in those books, where they take some of your hair or something and then use it to make you a puppet. Then they make an army of people to do their bidding like that.

[Haruka actually somewhat believes Kushina; he is, in some ways, a stickler for tradition.

And he's totally listening.

As he bends the feather far enough to snap it.]

[OH MY GOD.

That was her feather she's a little offended.]

[Haruka holds the two ends of the feather he just snapped, before handing the rest of the feathers back to Kushina.]

You can burn them.

[Probably. Even though Kushina had insisted they shouldn't earlier. But he figures, if nothing broke when he'd broken the feather, then there's no problem. Right? RIGHT?]

[just... STARES AT THEM and then at the halfsy feather. She might really dislike her wings but MAN. It was still part of her WINGS.]

I'm not going to! Besides, bending them doesn't mean fire wouldn't hurt.

Not taking them? Well, okay then. Haruka turns to start walking, feathers in hand.]

[Just... stands there, trying to make sense of what just happened. What just happened.

She jolts into action.]

[She's reaching for them now. YOINK.]

[Imagine these two walking in with a handful of feathers and asking for matches it's going to happen]

[When Kushina snatches up her feathers, Haruka makes a small noise of protest--]

Hey!

[--but otherwise doesn't put up a fight, falling into step beside Kushina. Kushina would win, anyway.]

[she would yes U HAVE LEARNED

She looks down at the ruined feathers in her hand as they walk, moving it around in her palm before remembering something.]

So, you like your scarf?

...It's warm.

[Which is about as close to a "yes" as she's going to get from Haruka. It's not really his preferred colour scheme (or animal, for that matter), but it's okay.

But he adds--]

You didn't need to.

[Give it to him, that is.]

I know, but I wanted to. I don't want you walking around shirtless anymore and getting cold.

[She also wanted to send Genki a bag of carrots.]

[IT WAS JUST ONE TIME. Haruka gives Kushina an annoyed Look at that, before looking away, subconsciously hiding the lower part of his jaw behind the scarf.]

[He doesn't really know much about Kushina, and he doesn't intend to dig too deeply, but...

Also don't send carrots, Mackerel will get fat.]

[Sends GENKI all her carrots Naruto doesn't eat them anyway lil brat

She doesn't mind the digging with this though.]

Yeah. [She shrugs like its no big deal to her.]

I looked through the stores for something like that, but they didn't have anything. So I grabbed some yarn and everything else I needed and decided to just knit it myself. Naruto got one too but his doesn't have a rabbit on it.

Haruka idly toys with the end of the scarf, letting the fabric run through his fingers.]

Is that how you keep busy?

[They do, after all, have too much free time here in Luceti.]

One of the ways, but I don't knit scarves all the time. It's pretty tough and it's really time consuming. I think my house would be overflowing with yarn, too. But I guess that would mean I would get pretty good at it, if I did.

[She also gardens and does house chores and chats with people and takes care of her family and prods Haruka about Genki and himself.]

What do you do?

[Mackerel is always good; Haruka takes good care of him. He even lets Mackerel flop on his feet.

We have a lot of time. But that thought stays in his head.]

Swim.

[The answer is automatic. He also cooks and sketches, but swimming is the main one.]

[There's... nothing wrong with that but does he just swim all the time? All day erryday? yes he does]

At the lake or something? It's been too cold to do that though and I don't know if there's any pools. You'd get sick if you tried.

Haruka turns his attention to the path ahead of them.]

There's a pool simulation in the Battle Dome. It's like an actual pool.

[Oh. Well. There's that. She didn't know it could make pools.]

[Furrowing her brow in thought.]

Spring should be here in a few months though. You'll be able to swim at the lake, if you want.

You can't do much with it now though, it's probably still frozen over.

[...Just how bad is your sense of direction? Well that's not terribly helpful. Maybe he should take a trip down there at some point, just so he knows where it is in summer.

Speaking of trips, their trip to the store is nearing its end as their destination comes in sight! He glances over at Kushina.]

Are you okay with trying this?

[Yeah okay he might have been a bit rude and brusque about burning her feathers, but Kushina had seems apprehensive. Last chance to back out!!]
